How Can You Organize Tall Boots?

organizing boots

Totally genius.

Boots are essential not only for those fashionistas who love to show off what they’ve got but also to people who want to stay warm during the cooler months. Actually, many people are still reveling in the glow of summer. However,  we are almost done with the cold but Down under, stores are having their fall fashion displays and soon, winter’s. This means people, particularly women who love dressing up, would have to start investing in snuggly sweaters, boots, and lush hues.

Of course, where there are boots, there has to be that problem of where and how to keep these tall shoes organized. Let’s face it; tall boots are not easy to organize. Even if you stick boot shapers inside these just to keep these upright, these would eat up too much floor or close space. On the other hand, it would be difficult to stack the boots one on top of the other as you would have to rummage through the pile just to find the pair you need to wear. Boot boxes are no good, too, since these are too tall to store efficiently. Hence, what could be the best option? Well, you can always buy boot hangers designed specifically to hang boots without leaving marks on the skin of the boots. You would see metal clips lined with rubber or plastic, and all you have to do is use these to clip your boots. At the end of these clips are hooks that you can hook on a closet rod hanger or a tension hanger.

The idea of hanging your boots on rods gives you plenty of floor space that you can use for other stuff you might have. What’s more, it helps you become more organized. It’s always easier to find things when these are in order. Otherwise, you’d be wasting too much time trying to find a matching pair. Besides, your tall boots would last longer if you hang them properly.

Fall Color: Tobacco

Colors and smell of the earth...

Putting together a bunch of clothes to create a fashionable look will not be complete without matching footwear. This makes good quality and stylish footwear a wardrobe essential for those who want to look good all the time. There are even some women who are more particular with their shoes than the clothes they wear. One can play with shoes and outfit this fall season as bright and neutral hues come together in creating fashionable looks built on the shade of Tobacco.

Designer brands like Givenchy, Lanvin, YSL, Gucci and Burberry have tobacco inspired creations in their line-up for fall 2012 fashion. This shade has always been one of the popular choices for men and women’s shoes perhaps because building fashionable looks around this color is quite easy. Here are some of the latest footwear fashion in tobacco shade that would look great this fall and winter.

Chunky ankle boots and over the knee boots/knee-high boots are on top of the designer trends for this year. Boots are perfect footwear for fall and winter, but the new style of chunky ankle boots are a welcome addition. Their extra sturdy heels give women a boost in height and comfort at the same time. Over the knee boots are also favorites for this season as they create elegant lines that elongate the legs. Short skirts, dresses, leggings look better when paired with these footwear.

Men and women who love the laced classic, Oxfords, will love the Neon-Sole Oxfords that is becoming a popular fashion piece this season. The classic men’s shoe is given character with a splash of bright colors on their soles. This comfy and casual footwear can look great in an androgyny outfit which is also here to stay for the season.

Mary Jane Shoes will also keep young women within the trend this fall. This children’s shoe classic has been styled as heels, pumps and platforms that women can wear with casual outfits by day and switch into a night-out dress without changing shoes.

For those who are not quite sure about their tobacco shoe inspired outfits, one can never go wrong with a combination of Denim and Tobacco. A pair of jeans topped with shirts and blouses in the bright shades of the season and tobacco boots can get you almost anywhere in today’s fall and winter fashion.

When it rains…

boots, stiefel, rain

Rain at 15 degrees, perfect excuse for boots!

When I was a little girl, I used to imagine that whenever it rained, angels up in heaven cried. School ruined all that, and taught me about precipitation and the water cycle. Bummer!

Now that I’m a grown woman, I’ve grown a certain fondness for rain. Sure, it may mean frizzy hair and wet roads, but this angel on earth isn’t crying at all. When it rains, it simply means that I have a good reason to wear a pair of funky rain boots! More than fashion, though, there are some other important things to consider when picking out a pair of rain boots.

Choose the right size. While being drenched in the rain isn’t sexy, neither is walking around in ill-fitting boots. If you are buying online, be sure to have the measurements written down. Do think about calf size when buying mid-calf or knee-high boots. In this case, it’s still best to try out boots from a store. Find a pair which doesn’t feel hard on your feet.

Tread is everything. The last thing you’d want to get yourself into is an embarrassing and totally unsexy accident, so be sure your boots have enough traction to grip slippery surfaces.

Fashion knows no boundaries. Whatever the season, you can always make a statement. Just remember to have the proper mix of quality, fashion, and price when purchasing a pair of rain boots.

Sure, these rain boots are made for walking, but I’m not going to walk all over you…

Women and Wedges

You're so late Mr.Sun...but better than none. ;)

Men love their cars, and women love their shoes. Make no mistake about it. It’s probably one of life’s greatest mysteries which, if you think about it, really is no mystery at all. We women treat our shoes like they were our best friend. One type of shoe which lives up to its role of being our BFF is the wedge or platform. Why do we love our wedges? Let me count the ways…

They’re flattering. If you get a pair of wedges in a nude color, it gives the illusion of longer and leaner legs. Wedges give a whole new dimension to sexiness.

They’re light and comfortable. Wedges give you the added height you need, and a lot of arch support to go along with it. You can then kiss your wobbly days goodbye. Wedges also make you move easier, as they’re light. Because they’re made of cork soles and/or the same material for espadrilles, you can more easily move about.

They’re versatile. Pretty much like you are, wedges are so flexible that they can go from office wear to night out wear. In the daytime, you can wear wedges with shorts. When nighttime falls, you can then switch to a dress and still have those wedges on.
They’re practical. Unlike high heels which sink into the grass, wedges are much more stable and easy to wear. You may find yourself even dancing better with wedges instead of heels.
More than diamonds, shoes are a girl’s best friend. If you take care of your wedges, they’ll last you a lifetime. Now, that’s what I call a best friend for life!

Spring. My favorite time of the year sans allergies. It’s the time when ankle boots, loafers and mary janes could be used alternately. If the weather is just right, wedges are perfect too! Here are 3 of my personal pick for this season.
